Views of various activities performed by employees of the Saskatchewan Department of Agriculture. 01: Mansell McCreary a Department weed supervisor for the Bladworth district, demonstrates two of the most dangerous weeds found in the area. 02: Frank Miller, Department agriculture representative for the Rosthern District, leaves his office. 03: A group of soil experts from the University of Saskatchewan and the federal and provincial departments of agriculture examine soils in the Tiger Hills area of Saskatchewan. 04: McCreary demonstrates the root system of leafy spurge. 05: McCreary applies the chemical Borascu to an area of land to control leafy spurge. 06: A nearly-empty dugout during the drought of 1961. 07: A hired hand at the University of Saskatchewan farm displays a handful of silage - an excellent livestock feed. 08: McCreary in the field. 09: Miller points to the horns on cattle. Part of his agricultural improvement program is to encourage beef producers to de-horn calves. 10: McCreary draws attention to the importance of knowing weeds and controlling them at the right time. 11 to 12: Miller in his office at Rosthern.
