Photographs originally housed in two photograph albums compiled by Ruby Verna (Swanston) Smeltzer of Ogema, Saskatchewan relating to her teaching career in rural Saskatchewan. She retired around 1972 and died in Ogema on September 30, 1996. The photographs include exterior and interior views of schools; images of students and staff; and student activities at various schools as follows: Corriedale School (Frontier district), 1927; Amulet School (Amulet district), 1920s; and Ogema Public School (Ogema), mid 1950s to 1969. Additional information and names of individuals in photographs are included on backs of photographs and in photocopies of the original albums and related ephemera included in box with the photographs.
