This fonds consists of records created, accumulated and used by Dr. Abram Hoffer during his professional career in Saskatchewan and British Columbia. The records document Hoffer's psychiatric practice, as well as his extensive research on schizophrenia, orthomolecular medicine, and other alternative therapies over a period of approximately fifty years. Personal records are included in the fonds.

The types of records included are correspondence, clinical and patient case files, appointment and personal diaries, subject files, reports, conference and meeting materials, manuscripts, clippings, publications, photographs, sound recordings, and moving images.

Views of psychiatric services offered by the Psychiatric Services Branch of the Saskatchewan Department of Public Health, and adjacent agencies. 01 to 08: Dr. Mojzesz Rejskind, executive director of the Munroe Clinic at Regina General Hospital, and Fay Driscoll, a community psychiatric nurse, interview a patient at the Munroe Clinic. 09 to 17: Reece Twist, a community psychiatric nurse, takes a patient's blood pressure while on a home visit. 18 to 20: Interior of the Canadian Mental Health Association offices, located at 1300 11th Avenue, Regina, where an employee of the office greets visitors. The Association provides rehabilitation programs to assist a person to live in the community. 21 to 22: Two community psychiatric nurses provide counselling for foster parents. 23 to 32: Marjorie Gazan, a community psychiatric nurse, interviews an in-patient at the Munroe Wing of the Regina General Hospital. 33 to 41: Community psychiatric nurse Reece Twist provides family counselling. 42 to 48: Two community psychiatric nurses provide counselling for foster parents.
