Construction of Hanson Lake Road

Views of the construction of Hanson Lake Road south of Flin Flon by the Saskatchewan Department of Natural Resources' Construction Branch. Work includes dynamite blasting of granite outcrops, some of which was detonated by Olaf Hanson of Flin Flon, crew foreman and after whom the road is named. Also includes views of the Lewis and Sons lumber mill near Hanson Lake Road, an autoboggan operated by Oliver Beattie of Lac La Ronge, and Deschambault Lake Motel and Esso gas station along Hanson Lake Road.

Saskatchewan Government Airways aircraft transfer for servicing; Underwater weed cutter

01 to 02: Technicians de-mounting a transfer dolly from a Saskatchewan Government Airways float-equipped airplane and easing it back into the North Saskatchewan River following servicing. The tractor and dolly transfer the aircraft from the service hangar one-quarter mile to the river. 03 to 04: Views of an underwater weed cutter being tested and adjusted in the North Saskatchewan River. The weed cutter, designed and built by the Saskatchewan Department of Natural Resources Construction Branch at Prince Albert, operates to cut down reeds and weeds four feet below the surface in provincial park waters.
