Edwin Jackson Brooks speaking notes, correspondence, clippings

Records pertaining to Edwin Jackson Brooks of Indian Head, Saskatchewan. Brooks was the last surviving juror of the Louis Riel treason trial, held in 1885. Records include: speaking notes prepared by Brooks that recount his experiences of the trial; correspondence from Harry J. Painter, the penultimate surviving member of the jury, to Brooks, 1935; handwritten notes, possibly that of Brooks', outlining the reasons for and events of the Riel Rebellions and trial; and a scrapbook of clippings related to Riel, his trial and its jurors.
