This fonds consists of records created, accumulated and used from 1875 to 1944 by Norman Fergus Black relating to his career as an educator, writer, and historian.

This fonds includes Black's French Medal from Queen's University (1905); a Regina Collegiate Institute Souvenir, 1911 and 1912; a Regina Collegiate Institute Students' Annual, 1917; a letter Black wrote to Mrs. May Neal in 1951 concerning the appointment of William Trant as Provincial Archivist of Saskatchewan, the Saskatchewan School Trustees' Association and his book, History of Saskatchewan and the Old North West.

This fonds includes copies of Black's works, as follows: First Reader for Use During the First School Year (1899); English for the Non-English (1913); What About the Jews? (1944); A History of Saskatchewan and the Old North West (1913); and History of Saskatchewan and the North West Territories (1913).
