Established in 1974, the Regina Cablevision Co-operative applied for and received in 1976 a broadcast license from the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC). The Co-operative began offering cable television services in Regina as Cable Regina in 1978. The Co-operative subsequently acquired other local cable television producers in places such as Regina Beach, White City, Weyburn, and Estevan before changing the name of its operations to Access Communications Co-operative effective April 17, 2000.
