Wilfred Churchman, Deputy Minister of the Saskatchewan Department of Natural Resources presents a commemorative plaque marking the location of Stratton Lake to Kathleen Louise Stratton, widow of George Frederick Stratton. Lance Corporal George Frederick Stratton was killed in action on August 1, 1944 while serving with the Canadian Highlanders R.C.I.C. unit of the Canadian Army during the Second World War. Surveyors monument plaque

Close-up views of a plaque that was installed as part of a monument honouring the contributions of surveyors to the settlement of the province of Saskatchewan, and to recognize the work of the Saskatchewan Land Surveyors Association. The monument also included a time capsule deposited at the monument site on March 28, 1968 with the intention that it be opened in 2067 for Canada's bi-centennial. The monument was designed and constructed by the Wascana Centre Authority and stand within Wascana Centre at Regina.
