Percy Butcher, father of Marshall Butcher, came to Saskatchewan around 1912. He operated several photography businesses in Regina, Saskatchewan (Capitol Studio; Butcher and Runnalls).

This fonds consists of photographic records and published textual records created, accumulated and used by West's Studio Ltd. and its proprietors, Wilfred L. West, Horace G. West and Michael (Mick) West in its operations as a photographic studio in Regina, Saskatchewan from 1918 until 1986. The records are comprised of photographic negatives, glass negatives and prints, and document Regina residents, businesses, industries, educational institutions, sports and recreation events, social activities, clubs and organizations, street scenes and buildings, as well as provincial government officials. Included are studio portraits, passport photographs, wedding portraits, aerial photographs, and candid photography.

The textual records in the fonds include an official souvenir pamphlet and programme of the Royal visit of His Royal Highness, The Prince of Wales, to Regina in 1919 (R-E388), and published items by the Searle Grain Company, Limited (R-E1785).
