Scope and content
This series consists of Tarasoff's personal and family records. The series is divided into three sub-series: Diaries, Subject Files and Sound Recordings.
The Diaries sub-series contains Tarasoff's personal daily diaries, for the years 1945-1948, 1952-1985.
The Subject Files sub-series includes correspondence; memorabilia; newspaper clippings; manuscripts; posters; conference records; academic research notes, theses and diplomas; pertaining to: Tarasoff's academic education; his family; his baseball activities in the 1950s; his involvement with the Canadian Council of Christians and Jews Western Citizenship Seminar for Young Adults in the 1950s and early 1960s; and other personal interests. These files also contain a farm ledger (1919-1930) created by his grandfather, Koozma Tarasoff Sr., as well as records created by Tarasoff's father, John, and records of his first wife, Nadya (Konkin) Tarasoff.
The Sound Recordings sub-series includes recordings of: family events; nature sounds at Madge Lake, where the Tarasoff family spent vacations; cassette letters from friends; radio programs; and lectures given by Tarasoff.
In this series there is also a CBC Radio interview with Tarasoff concerning his experiences and correspondence with American baseball player Tyrus (Ty) Cobb between 1952 and 1954.
Additional personal records are found in the Correspondence and Doukhobor series of the fonds.
