Mr. D. F. H. Black, Director of the Industrial Development Office (01), Dr. J. W. T. Spinks, Department of Chemistry and Dean of Graduate Studies at the University of Saskatchewan (03), and Dr. E. W. R. Steacie, President of the National Research Council (04) speaking at the Symposium on Research held in the School of Agriculture upon the occasion of the opening of the new Research Council Building on the Saskatoon university campus. (02) shows Dr. T. Thorvaldson, chairman of the Symposium on Research introducing guest speakers.
Premier Thomas Clement Douglas (05), Dr. C. J. MacKenzie, President of the Atomic Energy Control Board of Canada (06), Dr. N. H. Grace, Director of the Research Council of Alberta (07), and the Honourable Woodrow Stanley Lloyd, Minister of Education and Chairman of the Saskatchewan Research Council (08), address a banquet held in the Bessborough Hotel, Saskatoon, following the official opening of the Saskatchewan Research Council Building.
