Eyewitness to War sub-series

Documentary profiling Gladys Arnold, a Saskatchewan-born journalist who was the only Canadian Press correspondent in France during the outbreak of World War II, and covered the conflict until she was forced to flee upon the German occupation of France in 1940. Arnold returned to Canada and was an activist for the Free French movement. Interviewees include: Gladys Arnold; Barry Robins, cousin to Arnold; Kay Rex, journalist and author; Michel Bonneau, son of a Free French activist; Nelitta Geoffrey-Dechaume, Free French activist; and Eric Amyot, historian and author. Produced in association with History Television, SCN, and CBC Saskatchewan and marketed by Cooper Rock Pictures Inc. as part of its Canadian Women of Courage series. Records include: dubs of a closed captioned master with commercial blacks; unedited interviews; B rolls; archival newsreel footage; transcripts of interviews; research materials; and photographs.
