Life Lessons series

This series consists of records relating to Life Lessons, a series of half-hour reality-based documentaries that examine various social and health issues, including domestic abuse, literacy, teenage pregnancy, multiple personality disorder, inhalant abuse, HIV and AIDS and alternative education. The series was shot in Regina and Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and produced by Heartland Motion Pictures Inc. in association with Canwest Global with participation from Saskatchewan Communications Network (SCN) and SaskFilm.

Individuals involved in the production of the series included Stephen Onda (executive producer for Heartland Motion Pictures Inc.), Will Dixon, Lori Kuffner, Spyro Egarhos, Jackie Dzuba, Alan Ramsay, Frank Halbert, and Stephen Hall.

Records relating to this series include documentary summaries and copies of broadcast masters.

The series includes background research, interview transcripts, a videotape master log, and copy of the broadcast master of Medicine House (MI-4314), a documentary on the William Charles Health Centre in Montreal Lake, Saskatchewan. The documentary includes interview segments with Lionel Bird (coordinator); Lisa Bird (band member); Roy Bird (past chief); Meredith Moore (health consultant); Dean Norton (Health and Welfare Canada); Dr. Burt (weekly visiting physician); Pauline Cornell (director of group home); Lorraine Henderson (assistant health coordinator); Gloria Naytowhow (secretary/receptionist); Sherry Dallas (registered nurse); Shirley Nelson (student nurse); Kevin Linnen (acting nurse in charge); and Caroline Nelson (community health representative).
