Document entitled Homesteading in Saskatchewan, consisting of the reminiscences of Christine Elizabeth Read, whose father, Alexander L. Manson, a clergyman, homesteaded in the Bright Sand - St. Walburg, Saskatchewan district in 1911.
Reminiscences entitled, Early Settlers Homesteading, written by Harold M. Buxton, a farmer in the Tisdale, Saskatchewan district who was born in 1903 and died in 1976. The reminiscences relate to the period 1903 to 1935.

Includes: informal family portraits outside homestead buildings; horse and buggy; a man riding horse; girls on a seesaw; young men inside an office building; and people in a sailboat and a canoe on the lake. Photographs were found in a home that had previously been owned by Frank and Margaret MacDonnell.
Newspaper article, written by J.A. Rankel and published in the March 5, 1977 edition of The Tribune, Winnipeg, entitled, Homesteading: sod house and wild oxen. Rankel describes his experiences and those of his father as they relocated from Manitoba in 1901 and homesteaded southwest of Weyburn, North-West Territories.
