Showtime at the Front sub-series

Documentary profiling the Canadian Army revue shows that entertained Canadian troops during World War II. The revue travelled to England, Italy, France, Germany, Holland, Belgium during its tour from 1943 to 1945. Interviewees include: Joan Moore and Odette Winterton, performers; Verity Sweeny Purdy, show producer; Robert Farnon, show musical director and arranger; Tom MacKenzie, World War II soldier; and Laurel Halladay, author and historian. Produced in association with History Television, SCN, and the Knowledge Network and marketed by Cooper Rock Pictures Inc. as part of its Canadian Women of Courage series. Records include: a closed captioned master with commercial blacks; a dub of the master; unedited interviews; B rolls; stock archival footage; transcripts of interviews; and research material.
