VT R-143: Interview with Gordon Henry (Greg) Grassick and Edith (Bonnie) Grassick of Regina. Mr. Grassick recalls his family's history in the Fort Qu'Appelle and Regina areas since the early 1880s and playing football for the Saskatchewan Roughriders from 1927 to 1934. Broadcast on November 16, 1979. Interviewer and producer was Chris Shannon. Visitation report included. 46 minutes.

VT R-144: interview with Hilda Allen, a theatre director and actress born in 1906. Allen discusses the history of theatre and opera in Regina, her involvement with Regina Little Theatre, Globe Theatre and the annual play of the trial of Louis Riel, her family and other interests. Clem Cowan of Regina, Saskatchewan, a carpenter and barber born around 1900, recalls his experiences coming west from Ottawa, Ontario as a carpenter, barber and homesteader, teaching dancing and barbering, his involvement in the lumbering business and sports activities and the impact of the Depression and prohibition.

Robert Thomson Currie of Regina, Saskatchewan, a grain elevator operator born in 1888, recalls immigration to Canada from Scotland in 1908, the jobs he held, homesteading near Alsask, living in Semans, Lestock and Quinton, the impact of the Depression, entertainment, co-operatives and the Saskatchewan Wheat Pool.

Sound recording of an interview with Mrs. Helen Theresa (Nieszner) Ansell of Regina, Saskatchewan conducted by Dorothy Hayden. Mrs. Ansell talks about growing up in the early days of Regina and about her husband Jack (Blimey) Ansell's life and work as a trainer for the Saskatchewan Roughriders football club. John (Jack) Ansell died on August 27, 1952. Helen Ansell died on December 3, 1991.

Saskatchewan Roughrider Grey Cup Victory of 1966 Oral History Project

The first-ever Grey Cup victory of the Saskatchewan Roughriders in 1966 had a tremendous impact upon the province. A holiday atmosphere prevailed for many months and the players were honoured in countless civic and community events. Recalling those days are former players, journalists and team administrators. The project was conducted as an exercise for a Journalism class at the University of Regina organized by lecturer Jill Spelliscy. Interviewers included Val McGregor; Barb Pacholik; Carolyn Sereda; Markus Schwake; Rob Vanstone; and Lisa Wilson. Textual documentation is also included.
