This fonds consists of records created, accumulated and used mainly by the secretary of the Saskatchewan Historical Society during its operation in Regina, Saskatchewan. The fonds contains the administrative records of the Society along with the records relating to the history of the province from the mid 19th century to 1945 compiled and collected by the Society in fulfillment of its mandate.

The types of records included are secretary's annual reports; correspondence; minutes; financial statements; a constitution; an annual meeting programme; newspaper clippings; personal narratives; essays; obituaries; biographical sketches; photographs; articles and speeches.

No series assignment was applied to the records in this fonds.

Records created, accumulated and used by J.D. Herbert as Director of Historic Sites under the Saskatchewan Jubilee Committee, 1953-1955, and thereafter in the Department of Natural Resources until his retirement on July 31, 1956. The first section contains files relating to individual historic sites in Saskatchewan. The second section consists of files relating to the administration of the historic sites program. Also included are Herbert's appointment book and records of Arthur S. Morton. Includes information on Pile o' Bones. For information on Edna Jaques, see file for Briercrest.

Information on Nut Lake House is filed under Capot House. File 1.8 relates to Bell Farm near Indian Head, Saskatchewan. Includes information on St. John the Baptist Mission in Ile a la Crosse. The file relating to the Cree - Blackfoot Battle, 1866 includes photographs of the Log Valley Massacre site (Vermillion Hills). The file entitled Date Rock, Druid includes a photograph captioned "Dated Rock" near Druid, dated July 1, 1791".

A letter dated April 26, 1933 from Lelia A. Reynolds to Dr. David Low of Regina with information on the first legislation affecting the medical profession in 1885, a partial list of registered doctors including brief biographical information on some of them, and information about the medical profession of the North West Territories being incorporated on December 11, 1888 under the name, "The College of Physiciains and Surgeons, North-West Territories."
