Item is a recording of speeches made by D. Grant Devine (Premier of Saskatchewan) and E.K. (Ted) Turner at an event to celebrate the Saskatchewan Wheat Pool. Grant Devine congratulated the Pool on its 60th anniversary, and discussed the current agricultural difficulties and the need to learn and understand past difficulties. He focussed his attention on issues such as interest rates, input cost, world commodity prices, subsidies and assistance program. E. K Turner spoke about future government policies towards agriculture, and the need for closer cooperation between levels of government, between commercial organizations and with farm organizations.
