Item is a photocopy of a newspaper clipping from the Ottawa Free Press for Saturday, August 1, 1885. Clipping concerns the trial of Louis Riel.

Illustrated booklet researched and written by Agnes M. Ruest and published by the Saskatchewan Human Rights Commission in co-operation with the Association of Metis and Non-Status Indians of Saskatchewan. Booklet contains profiles of outstanding men and women with an introduction written by Judge Tillie Taylor, chairperson of the Saskatchewan Human Rights Commission.

Addresses, brochure, clippings, letters and papers relating to Louis Riel's activities in Manitoba and Saskatchewan concerning the Riel Rebellion, the North-West Mounted Police, land claims, the trial and the execution of Riel at Regina, November 16, 1885; photographs; and artifacts, including candlestick, wooden cross and rosary beads, reliquary, religious medallions, a watch, and prayer book.
