This collection consists of records created, accumulated and used by former Saskatchewan resident Lloyd G. Warkentin. The records relate to his personal and family life; his interest in religion; his early life in Dalmeny, Saskatchewan; his work as a bank manager and as an employee of the Saskatchewan Department of Co-operation and Co-operative Development. Many of the items reflect Warkentin's general interest in Saskatchewan and its history.

The types of records included are photographs, yearbooks, telephone directories, family histories, correspondence, notes, reports, publications, postcards, maps, and memorabilia.

The graphic materials in this collection focus mainly on the Warkentin, Thiessen and Kowalko families; the town of Dalmeny; and various representations of Saskatchewan, including agricultural scenes, abandoned farms and machinery, elevators, towns (including hotels and other businesses), bridges, ferries, landmarks, Taylor Field and the Saskatchewan Roughriders, and the RCMP Musical Ride.

All of the records in the collection have been described at the file or item level, except for S-G906.6, which includes a publication entitled The Western Teacher: Modern Classroom Magazine, Volume 3, No. 2, published by Western Extension College, 1932.

Albert William Bannister family fonds

This fonds consists of records created, accumulated and used by the Albert William Bannister family during their time in England and Regina, Saskatchewan. The records include a family record of births, marriages and deaths, possibly written by Ellen Maria Bannister, and photocopied articles about Mr. and Mrs. John Dougan (1923, 1926, and 1928).

Records pertaining to Albert William Bannister include photographs of Government House in Regina (no date) and of himself in Sons of England Lodge regalia (no date). There are also photocopies of original family documents, including: newspaper clippings about Albert William Bannister (1933, 1935, 1940, 1945, and 1947); an official copy of the birth certificate of Albert William Bannister (1918); and Albert William Bannister's record of indenture of apprenticeship (1879).

Records pertaining to A. William Bannister, son of Albert William Bannister, include: photographs of the 1919 Regina Roughriders rugby team (1919); a sound recording of an interview with Albert William Bannister of Regina conducted in 1980 by Caroline Froher in which Bannister speaks of his personal background, life in Regina in the 1900s, the Regina Cyclone in 1912, his war service and playing football with the Saskatchewan Roughriders, describing the team in 1920, equipment, plays and travel (Tape R-5688); and photocopies of his discharge certificate from the Canadian Overseas Expeditionary Forces (May 7, 1918) and a letter from Diefenbaker thanking him for a diamond willow cane he sent (1974).
