Excerpts: A collection of excerpts created by Dick Bird, the National Film Board and Cherry Film Productions. There is also much unidentified footage of unknown origin. Includes scenes of aerials of the prairies and the Legislative Building, cattle ranching, harvest scenes, war footage from World War One and World War Two, automobile races at the Regina Exhibition horse race track (1920s), motorcycle hill climbing competition at Moose Jaw (1920s), a man driving a horse-drawn grain cart to a grain elevator and interior scenes of the grain elevator (1920s).

The images relate mainly to her travels in Alberta, British Columbia, Ontario and Saskatchewan and to her teaching career in rural Saskatchewan from 1918 to 1923. Name variations that appeared in various sources are as follows: Sarah Jean McFadyen; Jean McFadyen. According to the Saskatchewan Department of Education inactive teachers' register, Jean MacFadyen was born in 1893 in Prince Edward Island and taught at the following schools: Parkbeg Village (1918-1919); Mule Creek (1919); Glenn (1920); North Regina (1921); River Ayr (1922) and Clifton (1922-1923).

Memoirs of George S. Tuxford

Typewritten memoirs of George Stuart Tuxford based on his personal diaries and letters written to his parents. Tuxford was born in Wales in 1870 and later emigrated to Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, where he farmed and was active in the community. He died in Victoria, British Columbia in 1943.

Records created, accumulated and used by Richard Loney (1877-1965) of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan relating to his professional career as a businessman in Moose Jaw in real estate and automobiles; his service in the Boer War; and his work as a recruiting officer during World War I. Includes stock certificates for shares in various businesses in Moose Jaw; newspaper clippings; advertisements of Manley, Loney and Co. and Richard Loney and Co., and biographical information.

Richard Loney was born in Ontario in 1877 and settled in Moose Jaw in 1906. He was active in the Moose Jaw community and served as president of the Moose Jaw Board of Trade.

Dominion Government's exhibit of captured war trophies and photographs, Moose Jaw

The poster promotes the Dominion Government's exhibit of captured war trophies and photographs. The exhibit was held at the Douglas Block of Moose Jaw on December 14-21, [1918]. The collection included guns, airplanes, war photographs, posters, and items captured by soldiers on the battlefields of Flanders. Admission was 25 cents for adults and 10 cents for children.
