Bertram Tash was born at London, England in 1909. His father brought the family to Canada and was a tailor in Battleford and Saskatoon. Bertram also worked as a tailor, but moved on to work as an electrician, an instructor for Royal Canadian Air Force wireless operators during the Second World War, and a technical school instructor in Saskatoon. He also was an avid amateur radio operator and was involved in the Saskatoon local of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. Interview by D'Arcy Hande, November 1975.

Melvin M. Upton (born 1918) was born at Davidson and grew up at Forgan. He served in the Army in the Second World War and, upon returning, began work as a stonemason's and bricklayer's apprentice in Saskatoon. He also served in the bricklayers' and masons' union, the Saskatoon Building and Construction Trades Council, the Provincial Apprenticeship Board, the Labour Relations Board, and the Labour-Management Committee on the Construction Industry. He spent his life working for Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (C.B.C.), the Department of Transport, and CFQC Radio as an engineer. O'Brien discusses early radio technology and the growth of radio broadcasting in Saskatoon. Recorded April 1976.
