Vancouver Port Area Grain Handling Industrial Inquiry series

This series consists of records related to the Vancouver Port Area Grain Handling Industrial Inquiry which was conducted between 1974 and 1975. The Inquiry studied the labour-management relations, safety conditions and productivity of the grain handling industry in the Vancouver port area.

The types of records included are correspondence, transcripts of proceedings, draft copies of reports, the final report of the Inquiry, minutes, research materials, submissions, operational records, and an audio cassette.

This series consists of records created, accumulated and used by Stephen Onda during his professional career as an independent film and video producer in Regina, Saskatchewan. The series contains records relating to various productions for which only a single item or small volume of records was received. The electronic records consist of 26 TIF files of one-sheets for various Heartland Motion Pictures Inc. productions.

Clients include: Jason Plumb and the Willing; Jack Semple Band; Codie Prevost; Dakota Dunes Casino; Saskatchewan Credit Unions; Saskatchewan Teachers' Federation (STF); Saskatchewan Telecommunications Corporation (SaskTel); Saskatchewan Transportation Company (STC); Saskatchewan Power Corporation (SaskPower); VWAG (Vaughn Wyant Automotive Group, Saskatoon) and Work Safe Saskatchewan. Some footage was edited and finished, while other recordings appear more raw, covering various events, performances and interviews.

MI-13645 to MI-13646: raw footage of The Waltons at Creative House with Jason Plumb and band members. The footage was either shot or accumulated by plan9films in the late 1990s.

MI-13647 to MI-13648: 45 minute documentary entitled This Flat Earth: Cook Islands - The Children of Tangaroa, a pilot episode for television relating to the indigenous Maori people written and hosted by Seán Virgo. Produced and directed by Darryl Kesslar and edited by John S. Mills. Executive produced by Glen Kerby and Les Cantin. 2001.

MI-13649 to MI-13650: 1 hour of raw footage of a reading at McNally Robinson Bookstore in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan shot by plan9films likely in 2002. The reading was hosted by Seán Virgo and related to the Thistledown Press publication entitled The Eye in the Thicket, an anthology of essays on natural history. Footage includes readings by Trevor Herriott, Tim Lilburn, Davida Monk, and Lloyd Ratzlaff.

MI-13651 to MI-13663: raw footage of interviews conducted on September 5 and 6, 2008 by an unidentified female with various members of the Saskatchewan Teachers' Federation who discuss their teaching careers, involvement with the STF and opinions on education in Saskatchewan. Interviewees include Lyle Vinish, Larry Young, Doug Willard, Wendelin (Wendel) Herle, Larry Lozinski, Carol Moen, Daniel Hargrove, Frank Garrity, Boyd Taylor, Dick Klippenstein, Heather Vermeersch, Gordon Merryfield, Gerry Cooke, Wayne Clements and Rudy Schellenberg.

MI-13664: DVD entitled Jason Plumb and the Willing: Alive and Willing, a live concert film shot at the Applause Theatre in the Regina Inn in Regina, Saskatchewan and produced by plan9films in 2011. The concert was performed by Jason Plumb and the Willing (Jason Plumb, Mike Thompson, Cody Gamracy, Gord Smith, Dan Silljer and Jeff McLeod) and featured The Broken Heart Strings.

MI-13665: DVD entitled Jack Semple Band live at Village Guitars featuring Regina musician Jack Semple and Dave Chabot, Steve Hoy and Andrew Glover recorded live in 2014 in front of an audience at Village Guitars And Amp Co. in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Directed and produced by Darryl Kesslar and John S. Mills of plan9films. Songs performed were Spankin', Lord Have Mercy, I Feel Like Cryin, Ragin River, Howlin, Peace Love and Happiness, Rainy Night in Georgia, Cryin' Fa Ya, Little Wing, and Domino.

This series consists of a variety of records created, accumulated and used by Abram Hoffer including patient billing cards; copies of articles on Abram Hoffer; copies of reviews of Hoffer's books; publications; and curriculum vitaes of other doctors.

Vocational Rehabilitation of Disabled Persons (VRDP) Program Applications series

This series consists of records documenting participants in the VRDP Program who completed their training between1983 and 1986. The records do not exclusively cover this period as many files document the history of a participant's involvement in VRDP prior to this period.

These records reflect the services of the VRDP Program that were provided by the Department of Continuing Education and Department of Advanced Education and Manpower. The files also contain copies of relevant information from the Program services provided by the Departments of Social Services and Health.

As a result, the records include applications for rehabilitation services/admission, correspondence (primarily acceptance or rejection letters along with status updates), progress reports, (monthly) attendance reports, medical reports, registration forms, completion/discontinuation/withdrawal reports, correctional reports, audio tests, work/training plans, tutoring plans, interest surveys, contracts, assessments (basic/life skills, manual dexterity, psychological) and financial services and assistance requests.

The series consists of two sub-series: Applications 1983-1984; and Applications 1984-1985. Records were labeled by name of applicant and date of initial application.

Walled In series

This series consists of records pertaining to Walled In, a feature film produced by Minds Eye Entertainment, Expériences Films and Forecast Pictures. A psychological thriller based on the novel Les Emmurés authored by Serge Brussolo, it tells the story of an engineer who discovers that several bodies were entombed alive within a building by its architect. Walled In was shot entirely in Regina, Saskatchewan. It received five craft nominations at the 2009 Saskatchewan Motion Picture Association Showcase Awards.

The executive producers of Walled In were Dieter Vollkammer, Janine Stener, Michael Mihalke and Bader Alwazzan. Its producers were Ingo Vollkammer, Kevin DeWalt, Clément Miserez, Stephane Marsil and Jean-Charles Lévy. It was directed by Gilles Paquet-Brenner, and written by Rodolphe Tissot, Olivier Volpi, Sylvain White and Gilles Paquet-Brenner. The director of photography was Karim Hussain, and the editor was Jackie Dzuba. The cast of Walled In included Mischa Barton, Cameron Bright, Deborah Kara Unger, Noam Jenkins and Pascal Greggory.

Electronic records consist of: "dailies" film to digital video transfer reels 1 to 46, with reel #001MOS and FX test 01; visual effects "dailies" discs; a demo reel; a demo audio reel; reel 1 with no logos; a director's cut; and drawings.

Warren Rural Telephone Co. series

Series contains records of the Warren Rural Telephone Co., preceding its amalgamation with Lanigan Rural Telephone Company. Records consist of account books, financial records/statements (including invoices, receipts, tax forms and bank statements), Workers Compensation forms, meeting minutes, correspondence, maintenance grant inspection reports, maps, documents relating to the Saskatchewan Association of Rural Telephone Companies, and various advertisements/flyers from telephone supply companies.
