Leonard Woodhams reminiscences

Original handwritten and transcribed reminiscences of Leonard Woodhams about his journey emigrating from Kent County, England to Fillmore, North-West Territories in the spring of 1905. Woodhams travelled with his brother, Douglas, to Fillmore to join their brother, George, who was already homesteading in the area.

Nelson Spencer reminiscences

Reminiscences of Nelson Spencer of the Carnduff, Saskatchewan district about relocating from Ontario in the fall of 1884 and homesteading in the Carnduff district. Also includes recollections of his participation transporting animals and goods during the Riel Rebellion of 1885, and his marriage to Elizabeth Hicks in 1887.

Reminiscences of Carl Retzer of Strasbourg, Saskatchewan concerning his family's arrival in the Bulyea district, early pioneer experiences as told to him by his parents, homesteading on land situated between Bulyea and Strasbourg, and his achievements to retirement.

Carl Retzer's responses to ten pioneer questionnaires produced and distributed by the Saskatchewan Archives Board in the early 1950s. Includes responses to questions pertaining to pioneer diet, experiences, schools, churches, recreation and social life, farming experiences, folklore, health, housing, and local government.

James Balmer Preston reminiscences

Reminiscences of James Balmer Preston, who was an early settler in the Carnduff, North-West Territories district in 1882 and established a general store at Carnduff in 1884. Preston includes in his recollections information pertaining to the first religious service in the area, the organization of Carnduff School District, the last buffalo sighting, the settlement, and the first women to settle in the area.
