Grace B. Moore account of Saskatchewan pioneer life

Brief Account of Senior Pioneers of Saskatchewan, written by Grace B. Moore of Calgary, Alberta, about the experiences of her father and uncle, Robert and George Moore. In 1883, the Moore brothers moved from Ontario to homestead in the Carmel, North-West Territories district north of Moose Jaw. Moore's father homestead and was active in the local community until he relocated to Victoria, British Columbia in 1907.

Manuscript entitled, Against the Wind, written by Lucy L. Johnson of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Johnson's reminiscences of emigrating with her family from England to Canada in 1903 and their experiences homesteading northwest of Saskatoon.

Diary of Ernest William Miller

Typewritten transcripts of original diaries kept by Ernest William Miller (1860-1945) in 1882, 1898, 1901, 1903, 1904, 1905, and 1907 to 1914. (2 copies). Mr. Miller homesteaded near Moosomin; taught school for 10 years; was editor of The Vidette, 1896-1897; inspector of Fisheries at Fort Qu'Appelle; and a Justice of the Peace.

Subjects include; the flight and capture of Louis Riel; the Hourie family; prophecy; medicine; Tom Hourie; pemican; the Marquis of Lorne; the Franklin Expedition; buffalo hunting; and the repatriation of the Indians. Jack F. Isherwood reminiscences, correspondence

Reminiscences of Jack F. Isherwood of South Bolton, Quebec, entitled, Some Early American Settlers in Saskatchewan (Assiniboia) about emigrating as a child with his and other families in 1903 from the United States to the Lajord district. Isherwood's father was responsible for the organiziation of Prairie Flower School District No. 989;

Correspondence from Jack F. Isherwood to Fred McGuiness of Regina pertaining to the his recollections of his time homesteading near Lajord, and his experiences subsequent to leaving Lajord during the Great War to serve with the United States Air Service. Also included is a listing of relatives who emigrated from the United States and those that were born after the family settled in Canada. Additionally, Isherwood included a clipping of a newspaper article relating to the history of South Bolton, Quebec.

My First Five Years in Canada

Unpublished manuscript entitled, My First Five Years in Canada, written by Sidney Richards of Wadena, Saskatchewan. Richards' reminiscences for the period 1900 to 1950, including his childhood and early adulthood in England, his emgiration to Canada in 1900 and years in Ontario, his relocation to Saskatchewan in 1905, and his homesteading experiences in the Clair district, west of Wadena.
