5 videos that are part of the Treaty 8 Centennial Research Workshops organized and held in June 1999 in the Grouard, Alberta area to commemorate the signing of Treaty 8 in 1899. The five sessions covered the following topics: Researching and Writing Northern History; Geneaology Basics and Aboriginal Archival Resources; Archival Preservation/Conservation Techniques for Family Treasures; Aboriginal (Indian and Metis) Geneaology Research; and Oral History Research Techniques and Case Studies. The series was a project of the Alberta Historical Resources Foundation and Alberta International and Intergovernmental Affairs.
A moving image entitled Akosane, Where It All Began: The Hayter Family, 1935-1956, produced by Ron Hayter and Tustian Film Productions. The production, in colour, documents the townsite of Akosane, south of Hudson Bay Junction, and the Hayter family, who were involved in the lumber industry at Akosane railway siding for nearly two decades.

Also includes some scenes of Saskatoon, Lake Waskesiu, Dudley railway siding, and air training at Swift Current.

Videotaped recordings of Newsday telecasts in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan produced by Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC). The telecasts were broadcast Monday to Friday weekly, one hour per day. Includes cue sheets (scripts).
Documentary: This film documents the 1946 automobile tour by the co-operative members from twelve states. Starting in Superior-Duluth, they travel to Manitoba and Saskatchewan where co-op enterprises are examined along the way. The tour arrives in Regina for the National Convention of the Cooperative Commonwealth Federation (CCF), and meets such persons as Frank Scott, David Lewis, M.J. Goldwell, Sam Watson and T.C. Douglas. Regina scenes include downtown buildings and Saskatchewan Wheat Pool employees on their tennis courts. Also contains scenes of Moose Jaw, Davidson and Saskatoon.
