This fonds consists of a small volume of records created, accumulated and used by William J. Irvine of Young and Watrous, Saskatchewan. The records relate mainly to the Co-operative Commonwealth Federation and New Democratic Party in Saskatchewan. The fonds includes correspondence re beer making and roads in the Rural Municipality of Morris No. 312; Irvine's CCF membership card; publications; song books and a history of the Young Co-op.

This fonds consists of records created, accumulated and used by Fred W. Anderson of Regina, Saskatchewan. The records relate to Anderson's activities as secretary and director of research for the federal Royal Commission on Transportation. Records relating to Anderson's activities as an administrator and professor at the University of Saskatchewan, Regina Campus and the University of Regina are also included.

The types of records included are newspaper clippings; correspondence; memoranda; publications; transcripts; reports and submissions; legislation; speeches; and lecture notes. The fonds includes a microfilmed copy of Anderson's Master of Arts thesis entitled Some Political Aspects of the Grain Growers' Movement, 1915-1935, with particular reference to Saskatchewan, submitted to the School of Graduate Studies, University of Saskatchewan, in 1949 (reference code Micro. R-2.569).

Schafer Restaurant; and Frank Blaney [Belaney] of Prelate sitting in automobile. One of the postcards was written to Clarance Spicer by his mother.

The Search for water on the Canadian plains

Appearing in volume 1, issue 1 of Saskatchewan History on pages 4 to 7, items are transcriptions of documentation that concern attempts by the territorial government of the North-West Territories to obtain well boring machines to test for water in different areas. Included are a cover letter from petitioners [signatories identified] from Round Plain the the Touchwood Hills to Edgar Dewdney (Minister of the Interior) requesting an auger to perform these functions; a letter from John R. Hall (acting deputy minister of the interior) to R. B. Gordon (secretary to the lieutenant governor of the North West Territories) offering two well boring machines to the territorial government; the response of R. B. Gordon to John R. Hall's offer of two well boring machines; and rules and regulations on managing such machinery. A brief introduction to the documents is provided by Lewis H. Thomas and are accompanied by the reproduction of an image identified as a "government well drilling machine at Carmel School north of Moose Jaw."

Honour, platitudes, and the old lie

Item component are notes by editor of Saskatchewan History, Myrna Williams on the imporance of poetry, journals, and diaries are for an understanding experinces of the Great War, a summary of the contents of the issue, including acknowledgements and brief summaries of articles. Component is supplemented by a photograph oshowing a form letters intedned for soldiers to write home, and a letter sen from Soldiers' Christian Association Camp Camp (Bramshott Camp). Component appears on pages 4 and 5.
