Records of the Office of the Deputy Commissioner of Agriculture series

This series consists of records of the Deputy Commissioner's Office of the Department of Agriculture, North-West Territories accumulated between 1897 and 1905. Earlier and later correspondence is located in certain files. [see notes]

Records include Treasury Board minutes (1898-1903, 1905); circulars of agricultural societies (1898-1905); correspondence with the Canadian Pacific Railway concerning freight rates on grains (1894-1895, 1902); correspondence regarding hail insurance (1899-1905), livestock, brands, dairy industry (1893-1905); as well as correspondence with the North-West Dairymen's Association (1892, 1896-1900).

These records are integrated with similar records from the provincial Office of the Deputy Minister of Agriculture.

Correspondence series

This series includes the correspondence for West Otthon School District No. 464. The records consist of letters of teacher applications, inspectors' reports, and correspondence from official government departments.

Finance series

This series includes the financial records of the West Otthon School District No. 464. The records consist of receipts, account statements, annual financial statements, grant statements and assessment rolls.

Architectural Drawings series

3 sets of drawings of proposed city halls for Regina, 2 sets of drawings of Regina City Hall built in 1906, 5 sets of drawings of proposed renovations to Regina City Hall.

Clippings, Letters and Ephemera series

This series consists primarily of press clippings and articles, a few letters from family, friends and fans, and a printing plate and mats for an image of Edna Jaques.

(Canada) Homestead Fiats for Patent series

This government series consists of homestead fiats for patent issued by the Canadian Department of the Interior. The fiats were issued by the Department of the Interior to authorize the preparation of Letters Patent, which granted or confirmed title to a portion of land. Arranged chronologically, the fiats for patent typically contain the patentee's name, post office address and the legal land description of the homestead.

Canadian National Railways Land Settlement Records series

This series consists of records created, accumulated and used by employees of the Canadian National Railway Company relating to land settlement in Saskatchewan. The series includes a 150 pg. black and white photograph album prepared by Jack McCallum and Alex Sinclair, former superintendents of Agricultural and Land Settlement for the Canadian National Railways (CNR). The photographs consist mainly of images of European individuals and families who immigrated to Canada and settled on land in Saskatchewan. The photographs were arranged alphabetically by place name as follows: Alsask, Eatonia, Eston; Arran; Birch Hills, Melfort; Henribourg; Lintlaw, Kelvington; Maidstone, Lashburn; Prince Albert; Rabbit Lake; Shellbrook; Stenen; St. Peters Colony; St. Walburg; and Miscellaneous.

The series also includes two copies of an album entitled "German Czech Settlement in Vicinity of St. Walburg, Sask. Pictures and Data July 6th to 10th, 1939". The album includes black and white photographs and information on land purchased in 1939 by the CNR for German Czech immigrants in the Brightsand, Loon Lake and Goodsoil districts. A publication relating to Community Progress Competitions in 1931 completes the series.
