Sound recordings of interviews conducted by Murray Dobbin relating to the lives and times of Métis leaders Malcolm Norris and James Patrick Brady. The recordings were used in the preparation of Dobbin's book entitled The One-And-A-Half Men, published by New Star Books, Vancouver, British Columbia in 1981. This collection consists of administrative and operational records created, accumulated and used by employees of the Saskatchewan Government Employees' Union (SGEU) and its predecessor organizations, the Saskatchewan Government Employees' Association and the Saskatchewan Civil Service Association. The headings assigned to the records are as follows: General; Boards and Commissions; Crown Corporations; Departments, Agencies and Authorities; Labour Service; and Organizations.

The collection includes sound recordings of interviews conducted by Doug Taylor in 1982. Tape R-10162 consists of the proceedings of the first meeting of the executive council of the Canadian Federation of Government Employee Organizations in 1961. Tape R-10163 contains a 35 minute interview with Bill Harding of Regina, Saskatchewan regarding the formation and aims of the Saskatchewan Civil Service Association and his involvement in the organization. Tape R-10164 contains a 45 minute interview with Susan Langer regarding the Saskatchewan Government Employees' Association strike in 1979 and her involvement in it. Tape R-10165 contains a 55 minute interview with Dorion Hassard regarding the Saskatchewan Government Employees' Association strike in 1979 and his involvement in it. Also included is a sound recording of the proceedings of the first meeting of the Executive Council of the Canadian Federation of Government Employee Organizations (CFGEO) on December 16, 1961.

Sound recordings of oral history interviews with survivors of the First World War who fought in the 46th Canadian Infantry Battalion. Originating in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan in 1914, the 46th Battalion called upon over 5000 young men from Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Alberta to fight in northern France. The interviews were conducted by James L. McWilliams and R. James Steel. Summaries and agreements are included. The interviewers used this material in the preparation of a 1978 publication entitled The Suicide Battalion.
