A sketch of two Sioux Indians from Wood Mountain. On the left is a profile of Contempt who was said to have wonderfully flexible lips. On the right is a man from the Pardonnapapes Brand who is in mourning. The custom is to remain mute, paint a black hand over your mouth and put ashes on the head.
