They became the first Regina citizens to apply for natural gas following the signing of an agreement between the city and the Saskatchewan Power Commission/Corporation, October 26, 1956. The applications were signed at the Saskatchewan Power Corporation head office located on Cornwall Street in Regina. Standing behind Mayor Leslie Herbert Hammond (1908-1998) and Mr. Douglas are J.E.
