File Hills Indian Residential School and File Hills Colony

Photographs created, accumulated and used mainly by Ida Drake, who was employed as a cook at the File Hills Indian Residential School, near Balcarres, Saskatchewan, in the late 1940s. Subject matter includes File Hills Indian Residential School including exterior views, students and instructors; recreation; Sports Day; the farm; File Hills Colony manse; Wanakapew Church; Daily Vacation Bible School; Indian Agency buildings; Abernethy Presbytery meetings; First Nations men, women and children; and events at the Red Granary.

Additional information is written on the backs of some of the photographs.
