Series of four digital copies of original photographs taken by W.L. West on November 1, 1928 of: (1) the exterior of the Army & Navy Department Store located at 229 Main Street North, Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan; (2) the exterior of the Army & Navy Department Store located at 1810-11th Avenue, Regina, while under construction; (3) the exterior of the Qu'Appelle apartment building located at 2105 Hamilton Street, Regina, while under construction; and (4) the exterior of the Queen City Cleaners and Dyers building located at 1720-12th Avenue, Regina, while under construction. All buildings were constructed by Hipperson Construction Ltd.

West's Studio Ltd. fonds

This fonds consists of photographic records and published textual records created, accumulated and used by West's Studio Ltd. and its proprietors, Wilfred L. West, Horace G. West and Michael (Mick) West in its operations as a photographic studio in Regina, Saskatchewan from 1918 until 1986. The records are comprised of photographic negatives, glass negatives and prints, and document Regina residents, businesses, industries, educational institutions, sports and recreation events, social activities, clubs and organizations, street scenes and buildings, as well as provincial government officials. Included are studio portraits, passport photographs, wedding portraits, aerial photographs, and candid photography.

The textual records in the fonds include an official souvenir pamphlet and programme of the Royal visit of His Royal Highness, The Prince of Wales, to Regina in 1919 (R-E388), and published items by the Searle Grain Company, Limited (R-E1785).

This fonds consists of records created, accumulated and used by Michael (Mick) West of Regina, Saskatchewan. The fonds primarily consists of photographic negatives, prints and transparencies created by West, his father H.G. West, and his uncle W.L. West between ca. 1910 and 1992. Subject matter includes: portraits; weddings; political figures and events; public events; trade shows; banquets and conventions; theatrical productions; aerial views of Regina; and industrial construction projects. Also included are Cirkut panoramic negatives and prints of Regina and area created by photographer E.C. Rossie, dating from ca. 1910 to 1924, as well as portraits of First Nations chiefs photographed by Rossie ca. 1918. A small volume of textual records also comprise part of the fonds, and include the publications How to Make a Bromoil Print, and Making Money Selling Portraits, along with a list created by W.L. West of photographers based in Regina that he knew.
