Artwork of William George Reginald Hobbs

Photographs of paintings done by Dr. William G. Hobbs, a physician, surgeon and artist who resided in Gainsborough, Saskatchewan. The paintings were submitted to the Saskatchewan Olympics and the Arts Selection Committee for an art exhibition at the Olympics in Montreal, Quebec in 1976.

(1): Painting entitled The Journey (part of the Immigration - The Departure series).

(2): Painting entitled The Destination, showing the exterior of a two-storey building with Limerick written on the side. 1975.

(3): Painting entitled The Journey, with railroad tracks in the foreground and grain elevators and other buildings in the background.

(4): Painting entitled Clondesley, a portrait of a young boy with a bird and bird's nest with four blue eggs in it.

(5): Painting entitled England, showing a view out of a open window with a wooden frame. A church steeple is in the background with a tankard and other items in foreground.

(6): Portrait of Britannia Ingrid Hobbs, showing a girl with blond hair and freckles with a black and yellow bird perched on her finger.

(7): Self portrait of Dr. Hobbs at the School of Arts, Fort San, entitled Who Calls? Who Calls?. 1975.

(8): Painting of dilapadated log barn with field in background.

(9): Painting of Gainsborough church in winter with children skating on dug-out in background.
