According to the Saskatchewan Department of Education inactive teachers' register, Jean MacFadyen was born in 1893 in Prince Edward Island and taught at the following schools: Parkbeg Village (1918-1919); Mule Creek (1919); Glenn (1920); North Regina (1921); River Ayr (1922) and Clifton (1922-1923).
