Agricultural Docuementary: This film celebrtes the 50th anniversary of the creation of the provinces of Saskatchewan and Alberta with a look at life in the rural municipality of Abernethy, Saskatchewan. Includes descriptions of the towns of Abernethy and Balcarres and the services they provide to the farmers of the area. Also includes a visits to the Indian Head Experimental Farm where new farming techniques and agricultural palts are tested and developed. Farmers and members of the rural municipality's council are interviewed about farming conditions and the economic future and pioneers reminsce about the early days. Fred Davis is the interviewer.

Water for the Prairies

Instructional: Maintaining the underground water table on the prairies is essential for the agricultural sector to raise good crops. The water comes from the rain and melted snow that falls in the Rocky Mountains. This film examines the efforts needed to ensure this water flows unimpeded to the prairies and also looks at how the interdependence to the condition of the forests, rivers, ranelands and man's use of natural resources for farming, ranching logging and recreation impact on these efforts. Also the roles of the Eastern forest rangers, in ensuring people use the land properly and follow conservatoin practises, are described.
