1885 and After: Native Society in Transition

Publication entitled, 1885 and After: Native Society in Transition, edited by F. Laurie Barron and James B. Waldrum. A compilation of scholarly papers presented at a conference hosted by the Native Studies Department of the University of Saskatchewan, held in May, 1985. Papers pertain to the events leading up to and including the North-West Rebellion of 1885, and the subsequent issues faced by First Nations society. Published by the Canadian Plains Research Center, University of Regina.

Agreement signing between Department of Natural Resources and Last Oak Development Corporation

Views of the signing of an agreement between the Saskatchewan Department of Natural Resources, represented by Hon. J. Ross Barrie, and the Last Oak Development Corporation which took place at Regina on April 1, 1971. The Last Oak Development Corporation was comprised of representatives from the Cowesses, Kahkewistahaw, Ochapawace, and Sakimay First Nations. The agreement proposed for the development of recreational facilities between Crooked Lake and Round Lake. Last Oak Development Corporation was to be responsible for the planning, design and construction of the project with consultation from an advisory committee appointed by the Department of Natural Resources.
