First school house in Saskatoon

Exterior views of the original Victoria School (later known as the Little Stone Schoolhouse) the first school house erected in Saskatoon in 1887. The school house was presented to the University of Saskatchewan by the Imperial Order Daughters of the Empire in 1911 to commemorate the Coronation of King George V was moved to its present site at that time.

Includes: programme for meeting to organize the Provincial Chapter of Saskatchewan, Imperial Order Daughters of the Empire, held in Regina on October 15, 1914; programmes for the first and fourth annual meetings of the Provincial Chapter, held in Regina in 1915 and 1918, respectively; admittance ticket for a war benefit performance hosted by the Clementina Fessenden Chapter, held at the Rex Theatre, Regina on September 30, 1915; excerpts and highlights of meeting agendas documenting the organization of the Cecil Rhodes Chapter in November, 1913, the second Regina chapter to be organized; and clippings of newspaper articles reporting the 80th and 100th anniversaries of the national I.O.D.E.
