Instructional: Film produced by the Prince Albert Pulpwood Limited about its lumbering practices in the forests of northern Saskatchewan. It discusses controlled harvesting of trees; clear cutting; selective cutting; reforestation techniques; scarification; the perpetual cycle of growth in forests which must be maintained in order for the forest to maintain its health; proper forest fighting techniques (includes scenes of an airplane water-bombing a forest fire). Includes interviews with a lumberjack; someone planting seedlings in an area scheduled for reforestation and an employee who plans the harvesting and replanting of forest areas according to silviculture practices. Archival photograghs are used to to show lumbering equipment used in the past.
