Abram and Rose Hoffer at Montreal restaurant

Item is an image showing Abram and Rose Hoffer sitting at a restaurant table with three unidentified people. A woman feeds a piglet from a baby bottle while a man on the opposite side holds up the piglet's tail. The piglet is a mascot of the Montreal restaurant, Au Lutin Qui Bouffe.

The photographs focus mainly on agricultural conventions and exhibitions held in a variety of locations across western Canada, reflecting the interests of Western Producer readers. Some people attending these events are identified including Pierre Trudeau, Ross Thatcher, Louis "Scoop" Lewry, Clarence Barber, just to name a few. There are several views of streets, buildings, businesses, events and farms, mostly in and around Saskatchewan towns and cities but also includes some from Quebec, Ontario, Manitoba, Alberta and British Columbia.

Blumenhof and other communities in Saskatchewan

Images accumulated and used by John Ens of Regina, Saskatchewan mainly during his residence on the family farm near Blumenhof, Saskatchewan and while serving overseas during World War II. The majority of photographs relating to Blumenhof were taken in the 1920s and 1930s. John Ens was the son of Franz and Anna Ens. His siblings included Bernhard, Franz, Aganetha, Peter, Katherine, Anna, Isaac, Jacob, Corny, and Helen.
