Allan Blakeney Cabinet Reunion

Images of a reunion of people who served in the Allan Blakeney Cabinet from 1971 to 1982. The reunion was held on June 23, 2002 at the Saskatchewan Legislative Building and the home of Walter and Ruth Smishek in Regina, Saskatchewan.

Everett Wood, Eiling Kramer and John Kowalchuk were deceased at the time of the reunion. Roy Romanow and Ed Whelan were not in attendance. Some of the wives of the former cabinet ministers were also in attendance.

This series consists of records created, accumulated and used by the Executive Council of Saskatchewan (Cabinet Secretary and Clerk of the Executive Council) during the tenure of Premier Roy Romanow. The records consist of Cabinet meeting agendas and minutes; records relating to approval of legislation policy; Cabinet Minister oaths; Legislative Instruments Committee (LIC) agendas and minutes; miscellaneous files accumulated by Premier Grant Devine; miscellaneous ministerial and personnel files; a small volume of records relating to Cabinet delegations, 1996-2000; briefing notes; Cabinet Minister certificates; proclamation working files; Deputy Minister certificates; Cabinet Planning Conference records; and Cabinet budget finalization records.

The series includes a videocassette relating to the installation of Dr. Lynda Haverstock as the 19th Lieutenant Governor of Saskatchewan on February 21, 2000.
