Custodial history

Upon completion of his research, author Ken Mitchell transferred records on behalf of Bobs Caldwell to the Regina office, Saskatchewan Archives in one accession in 2005: R2005-324 (October 7, 2005). Caldwell formally donated the records to the Saskatchewan Archives on November 17, 2005.

Scope and content

This fonds consists of records created, accumulated and used by Bobs Caldwell of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan in his participation as a member of the Board of Directors of the Saskatoon Jazz Society throughout the 1980s and 1990s. As a member of the Board, Caldwell helped to organize the activities of the Society and various projects including the Saskatchewan Jazz Festival and the American Pavilion of Saskatoon's Folkfest. The types of records included are minutes, committee notes, reports, clippings, financial statements, programmes, posters and photographs.

The fonds has been arranged into one series: Saskatoon Jazz Society.

The fonds also includes a small volume of records created, accumulated and used by Miss Phebe Winifred (Winnie) Rowles (1907-1995), aunt of Bobs Caldwell, relating to chautauqua.

Large, unmanageable files were split into smaller parts.
