William Pearce Manuscript consisting of Volume 1 (Index and Chapters I and II), Volume 2 (Chapters III to XIV) and the Photographic Supplement. The manuscript is an account of the development of the prairie provinces with particular reference to homesteading, railways, postal service, telegraph and telephone communications, river navigation, transportation, Indigenous settlements, buffalo pounds and extermination of buffalo, and wolfers. Pearce was a civil servant who was born in 1848 and died in 1930.
