File consists of the response by/about Ernest Henry Plummer to the Saskatchewan Archives' questionnaire pertaining to pioneer churches. Archives staff recorded that the respondent indicated on the questionnaire that they or their family came to Saskatchewan and/or the Canadian prairies in 1903.

Questionnaire number 4 on churches included questions on: religious services attended; location of services; buildings used; music and choirs; organizations; youth services; activities and special events (e.g. picnics, suppers, fund raisers); administration and financial support; membership; records available; and special features.

Plummer, Ernest Henry

Llewelyn Bethel United Church and cairn honouring Patagonia Welsh settlers

Item is an image showing Llewelyn Bethel United Church (built 1910) and a cairn that also honours the Welsh settlers from Patagonia and Wales who established the Llewelyn Colony in the Bangor area of Saskatchewan during the early 1900s. The plaque on the cairn indicates that the cairn was erected by members of the Church and the J. Evans Memorial Fund Committee in co-operation with the Department of Natural Resources in 1971.

Item is an image showing the plaque on a cairn erected beside the Llewelyn Bethel United Church in the Llewelyn colony of Welsh immigrants located near Bangor, Saskatchewan. The plaque claims that the church was built in 1910, and that the cairn was erected by members of the Church and the J. Evans Memorial Fund Committee in co-operation with the Department of Natural Resources in 1971. It also indicates that the cairn was placed in honour of the Welsh pioneers from Patagonia and Wales who settled in the area in the early 1900s. The plaque depicts the Saskatchewan coat of arms in the middle of the top edge with a tiger lily blossom on each side and shows a single wheat stalk on each side that run the length of the plaque.
