Proclamation: Constituency of Hanley, 1971

This poster is a proclamation for the constituency of Hanley announcing an election for the member of the Legislative Assembly to be held on June 23, 1971. Included is a list of polling divisions, the area they represent based on land descriptions, and the locations of the polling stations. The Returning Officer was Frank L. Boechler.

Exterior views of various potash mines and industrial sites located throughout Saskatchewan. 01 to 12: Duval Potash Mine located at Cory, west of Saskatoon. The plant was designed to produce a million tons of potash product each year. 13 to 24: Cominco Potash Mine, located at Vade - the Vanscoy-Delisle district. The plant was designed to produce a million tons of potash product each year. 25 to 33: Potash Company of America potash mine at Patience Lake near Saskatoon. 34 to 35, 38 to 45: U.S. Borax potash mine at Allan. 36 to 37, 46 to 48: Noranda Mines Ltd. potash mine in the Colonsay-Viscount district. The plant was expected to produce 1.2 million tons of potash product per year. 49: Alwinsal Potash Mine at Lanigan. 50 to 69: International Minerals and Chemical Corporation (Canada) Limited potash mine at Esterhazy. Includes views of the K1 mine (50 to 56) and K2 (57 to 69). It was estimated that the addition of the K2 mine would increase capacity of the company's development to 3.5 million tons per year, with a reserve mine capacity of one million tons, making the IMC project the largest of its kind in the world. 70: Canada Cement Co. plant at Saskatoon. 71: Potash Company of America potash mine at Patience Lake near Saskatoon. 72 to 82: Kalium Chemicals Ltd. potash solution mine at Belle Plaine, the only solution mining project in Saskatchewan.
