Document entitled A Biography of John Cochrane Smith, 1885-1917, written by D.J.A. Richardson, student at Western College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon. J.C. Smith, who was killed in World War 1, played an important role in the development of the livestock industry in Western Canada and was the father of D.L.T. Smith, Livestock Commissioner with the Saskatchewan Department of Agriculture. [1980 or after].
