Incorporated December 19, 1967, Amok Ltd. was a Canadian corporation that developed and operated uranium mining operations at Cluff Lake in northern Saskatchewan (approximately 80 km south of Lake Athabasca and 29 km east of the Alberta border). The corporation's shareholders consisted of three private companies (Compagnie de Mokta, Compagnie Français des Minerais d'Uranium, and Pechiney Ugine Kuhlman) and a French state corporation (Commissariat a l'Energie Atomique). Early in 1980, the Saskatchewan Mining Development Corporation (SMDC) acquired a 20 percent stake in the Cluf Lake mining project, as a result they formed a partnership to further develop the mine with Amok Ltd acting as manager of the project. In August 1987, Cogema Canada acquired a 75 percent interest in Amok Ltd. with Pechiney Ugine Kuhlman retaining the remaining 25 percent.
