In 1914, World Film Corporation was formed by Lewis J. Selznick in Fort Lee, New Jersey to be the distributor for the film production companies Equitable Pictures, Peeless Pictures, and Shubert Pictures. It also served as a production company using facilities at Peerless Pictures.

Wooff, Robert Hanson, 1900-1992

Robert Hanson Wooff was born at Dunoops Bridge, Yorkshire, England on May 7, 1900 to Isaac and Ann (Brennand) Wooff. In 1906, he immigrated to Canada with his family, who settled in the Turtleford district. He was educated in Emmaville and completed an agriculture certificate course at the University of Saskatchewan in 1925.

Wooff farmed in the Turtleford district for most of his life, retiring from farming in 1974. In 1944, he was elected to the Saskatchewan Legislature and served as a Co-operative Commonwealth Federation (CCF) and New Democratic Party (NDP) member for the Turtleford constituency (1944-1948, 1952-1956, 1964-1971). Wooff retired from politics in 1971.

Wooff died in Turtleford on March 23, 1992.

Wooff married Elin Larson of Spruce Lake, Saskatchewan on July 28, 1930. The Wooffs had four children: Robert; Roger; David and Marilyn.
